2023 Refuse and Recycling Guide
This guide provides quick information on procedures for yard debris, wood, and misc. bulk pickups, the recycling program, garbage collection procedures, and the 2023 recycling and holiday schedules. Residents who receive paper utility bills will also be mailed a copy of this guide in December 2022.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Solid Waste Division is to provide the Citizens of Titusville with an affordable refuse and recycling collection service that disposes of residential and commercial solid waste in a sanitary, timely, and convenient manner.
Responsibilities
The Solid Waste Division is responsible for the collection and removal of garbage and recycling items within the city limits of Titusville. Our services include once-a-week household garbage collection, every other week recycling collection, and once-a-week containerized yard waste collection. Recycling collection and containerized yard waste collection are on the same day as your regular refuse collection.
Commercial Collection
Commercial garbage collection (dumpsters) is set up by the customer and varies according to the size of the container and pickup days. However, pickup days are available Monday through Saturday for this service.
Residential Bulky Items
Residential bulky item collection (large items such as couches, furniture, mattresses, wood and appliances, etc) that will not fit into your regular trash containers require a call to the Solid Waste Division at 321-383-5755 to be placed on the list for pickup.
Large Quantities of Junk or Yard Debris
If an owner wishes for the City to dispose of large amounts of junk or yard debris exceeding the capacity of the waste collection vehicles, a fee for such disposal shall be charged.
Special Notes
All items to be picked up by the City must be placed at the curb by 6:30 am on the day of pickup. Pickups may not always be at the same time each day as it is often necessary to make adjustments to the route schedules.
Plastic and paper bags are acceptable for containerizing yard trash.
Garbage, yard debris, and recycling must be set out in front of your residence at curbside. Please do not place on vacant lots.
Service Fees
Garbage and recycling fees are included on the monthly utility bill.
